Helping Robertson County during Coronavirus
Experiencing Springfield Baptist Church for the past 8 months, I have watched a group of people love others in wonderful ways. Inevitably, many have asked how we can help those affected by Covid-19 (Coronavirus).
Here are three ways for you to be the hands and feet of Christ during this time:
(1) Deliver Groceries. Some wonderful people in our own congregation cannot (or should not) get out during this season to get their groceries. They are willing to purchase their groceries but need someone to to get them. If you would be interested in running groceries for someone then please email Scott Baker (scottbaker1033@gmail.com). Our deacons are doing a wonderful job calling and checking in on all of our members and they are finding these needs for us.
(2) Financially Give. Maybe you are not able to get out right now but would love to financially support those that may need help with financial struggles caused by Covid-19 (Coronavirus). You can go to our online giving page (www.Springfield-Baptist.com/give) and select a donation to "Support for Those Affected by COVID-19". 100% of these funds will go to help people and not the administration of such funds.
(3) Buy Groceries for Meals. You may be wondering how the homeless, school-aged kids, low income, etc. may be getting meals during this time. One of our community locations, the Robertson County Family Resource Center (700 Bransford Dr, Springfield, TN, 37172), is accepting groceries (specifically in need of perishables like milk, cheese, bread) and creating meal boxes for those groups. You can call them at (615) 382-3104 if you have questions. They are open Weekdays from 9 am - 12 pm and Tuesdays from 2:30 - 6:30 pm.
Springfield Baptist family and Robertson County friends … we have three ways that we can love the mess out of our community. Will you join my family and I to make a difference in Robertson County?
Remember, doing nice things does not make us the church. Making disciples that make disciples is what makes us the church. Do not forget to be and share the love of Christ and mentor others how to be the love of Christ during this time.
