2025 so far …
Church! You got to know that I LOVE being your pastor. The past three months have just been phenomenal. Tuesday was a very special day. I had the opportunity to schedule 2 baptisms in the morning, 1 baptism during lunch and 1 baptism in the afternoon. God is moving through our church and community. We have not had a Sunday, this year, that our church has not seen a baptism or salvation during our worship services. God is moving through our church and community. What a joy it is to celebrate with each of these people and families. What a wonderful experience to be part of His will and His movement!
I have been asked by members of our church over the past 5 years, how I know if we are a healthy church or not. An increase of salvations and baptisms is an indicator of good health. We are healthy when the people of our church hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5: 6), reflect Jesus (Ephesians 4: 24; 2 Corinthians 3: 18), live a sacrificial life (Romans 12: 1) and produce the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5: 22). I have always experienced that God blesses efforts. One of the ways that God blesses is to send people to us that need to follow Jesus, because God trusts us to do the work of the evangelist in their lives.
We are blessed to see the fruit of God’s spirit move amongst us but are we any less blessed during the tough seasons? God has been articulating His fruit (Galatians 5) throughout the people of Springfield Baptist Church during the great seasons and the tough seasons. God is still God in the easy and tough seasons. At all moments , “we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28 NASB).
With Holy Week and Easter upon us, we have much to celebrate. As previously stated, we have seen a great deal of decisions for Jesus this year and we have baptisms scheduled past Mother’s Day this year. In the upcoming weeks, be sure to pray and praise the Lord for what He is doing in the midst of our faith family.
